Goldpie, an Artisanal Pizza Pop-up in Richmond, CA
If you're in Richmond on a Sunday or Monday you’ll want to try Goldpie, named “the East Bay’s most exciting new pizza pop-up” by KQED Arts & Culture food editor Luke Tsai.
Goldpie was founded by Scott Hataye as the result of his lifelong love affair with pizza. Scott is crafting pies twice a week, and they might end up being your new favorite pizza. Goldpie is hand-tossed, made to order, and delicious.
Goldpie pepperoni pizza
Artisanal Pizza
Goldpie pizza is cooked at high temperature in a stone hearth oven on-site, creating a crisp crust with a slight and delicious char. The dough is premium bakers bread flour and '00' pizza flour, prepared at 62% hydration, going through a 72 hour cold ferment, giving the perfect bite and a unique crust. The deep red sauce is a traditional Italian soffrito using San Marzano tomatoes, simmered with a red wine blend and slow cooked for two hours. All pies are 12 inches, and can be topped with garlic chips, hot honey, pepperoni, sautéed cremini mushrooms, caramelized onions, or candied jalapeños.

Goldpie started in 2025, operating out of 7 Stars in Richmond, California on Mondays. In 2006 Goldpie added Sundays to their weekly schedule. You can order by phone or in-person, and picnic tables are available to eat your pizza.
The Four Way
Parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, and provolone, topped with Goldpie red. Finished with parsley and pecorino romano.
Pepperoni
Red sauce base, parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, provolone, and pepperoni. Finished with pecorino romano, and parsley.
Pesto
Pesto base, parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, and provolone. Finished with pecorino romano, and parsley.
Fungi
Red sauce base, parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, provolone, and sautéed cremini mushrooms. Finished with pecorino romano, and parsley.
Sausage
Red sauce base, parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, provolone, and house sausage. Finished with pecorino romano, and parsley.
Margie
Red sauce base, parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, and provolone. Finished with olive oil, pecorino romano, and basil.
Dragon’s Breath
Olive oil garlic base, parmigiano reggiano, mozzarella, provolone, whipped ricotta, and garlic confit. Finished with garlic chips, pecorino romano, and basil.
Heaven on Earth
Pesto, parmigiano reggiano base, mozzarella, provolone and pepperoni. Finished with Mike’s hot honey, pecorino romano, garlic chips, and parsley.
Sweet BBQ Chicken
BBQ sauce, gouda and parmigiano reggiano base. Mozzarella, provolone, red onion and BBQ chicken. Finished with BBQ sauce, pecorino romano and cilantro.
Brooklyn
Olive oil, fresh garlic base, mozzarella, provolone, ricotta, and caramelized onion. Finished with pecorino romano, and parsley.
